Lifts are essentials for the purpose of station accessibility on the Turin Metro. GTT is committed to providing an efficient service; however, technical maintanence work or sudden failures may occasionally occur, thus causing temporary service disruptions. In this instance, alternative travel solutions must be available, mostly for people with a motor disability.
When a lift is out of service at a station, in many cases you can make an alternative journey by using surface routes running parallel to that section of the metro line. Depending on the station:
•  from Fermi station: route 33
•  from Paradiso, Marche and Massaua stations: route 36
•  from Bernini station: route 9
•  from Vinzaglio station: routes 9 and 68
•  from Re Umberto and Porta Nuova stations: routes 9, 52 (operating on working days and Saturdays) – 67 – 67 Festiva (operating on Sundays and public holidays), 68
•  from Carducci and Molinette stations: routes 17 – 17/- 18
•  from Spezia and Lingotto stations: route 18 – 34 –
•  from Italia 61 and Bengasi stations: route 34
For information on alternative step-free journeys from a given station and for immediate assistance, please use the intercom at the platform or call the GTT Contact Center by telephone 011-0672000 (from mobile) or 800-019152 (from landline). Our staff is available to provide information and support.
The average annual efficiency of the lift service in 2025 is estimated at 98%.
